What happened?

It all went to the fantastic place of work and no play. We´ve both been up to no good. Somehow we managed to end up on the social money train that people call work. To top that all of we ended up in different towns (with aprox. 5 hours of commute in between).
But we have been talking and mixing some records at least. So I give you the fabulous (other) site of the Acidfactory. I hope this will at least ease your minds a little bit. A have managed to carve some bits and peaces of what's left of Asphalt and I will soon try to find some way to piece them together in some fashion. At least so you can hear that we still got it in us.

What to do

Ok, I was about to just writ something up here but I thought about it and came to the conclusion that I couldn´t just write something and not give u all a new tune to listen to. But then again. As I´, doing a little traveling this weekend with the work I won´t get a chance to update it as often as I would like. So I came up with the conclusion taht why not drop, not one, but two trax for the masses today. So yes, today you get two new tunes to listen to. Non of them is finnished but I think you´ll at least get a chance to listen to it and help me persuade the dear mr Carl that these two trax as good and wants to be made whole and long. The first one is just an untitled thing from an EP we never realy got made and the other is just a nice thing me thinks anyway. When I get back I´ll drop you a phat one from Carl that He did this summer It's a nice one I can tell you =)

A little miss and another thing

Carl was coming down on me hard last night (no you perverts, not that kind). Apparently I had stolen his music and posted it as my own. I didn´t know what was happening. At fist I thougt he was kidding and that I didn´t get it but after a whil I got the impression that he was in fact not trying to be jolly.
As we later discovered I had somhow managed to put my name infront of the tune instead of the correct name.
My bad. I take all responsibility.
This should now be corrected and everyone should be happy. Even Carl and his pms.

So, A new tune. I promised that didn´t I. Well, I give you a good one then. Straigt from the core of the acidfactory. A little to the trancey side but I think you´ll like it anyway. If not, tell us so we´ll know.

New tune!

There! Finaly managed to find somewhere to put our music. But we´re still looking for more webspace. We make lots of tunes that wants to get out there.
Anyway, this little piece is drum and bass and maybe a little trance and bass even. You´ll be the judge and tell us here below in the "comments" link. If you would be so kind.

A wee bit mad

We have been licking our wounds from the last gig and have now finaly come back to full strenght. We can honestly say that this was the worst thing we´ve been on togheter ever. I don´t know where to begin...

Sorry.. got a phonecall there...

so, where were we? yes! We have survived probably the worst ever party. The Flyers and the promoters promised lots and all sounded just lovely. But as we arrived the warnings started to flash. But due to a promise to both Carl and Micro I´m not at liberty to discuss anythin from this point in history until we ended up back in Micro´s apartment in Stockholm. All I can say is that we gave a hell of a performance for teh few and the brave that concured common sense and actually came to see us.
Big ups to everyone that came! We did this for you ya´know!

And now to the bad news. We didn´t get the whole set in tape. So we will try to recreate it from what we have on the harddrives. And we have a couple of new tracks or you too but as I told you earlyer. We´re out of webspace. Anyone have some space to lend?
I´ll try to set ut some pictures from this disastrus gig as soon as my camera dries (don´t ask).

I think that´s it for now. I´ll uppdate the site as much as I can again now when we´re finaly back from that dark place in our heads.

Prepareing for the weekend

Damn! We´ve been at it all day now and I think we have some new tunes that you´ll like. At least we hope so. Don´t know if i can show you anything yet. Wait, I´ll ask Carl.
No, sorry, we´ll keep the new tunes secret until tomorrow. After that I´ll be able to post some here (as fast as I can find some web space to put it on).
But on the good side now I can tell you that Micro Groover will be joining us on stage and filling out the live set. We´ve been experimenting a bit and I do belive it will be enjoyable for all partys.

This is a link to the flyer/poster for the event. Don´t know about the website. It looks like shit and I realy hope the fix it up soon so I can give out the address cause in the present form it does not damage then good.
Anyway, I reasently spoke to the head honcho over at the party and we now have date and time set. We will go on in a liquid state after/in Bamses set. We don´t know but maybe we will play some records there with him. B2B is fun!
And we have a special guest which I will reveal soon.
After us the one and only Under Ten Hurtz, Swedens number one drum and bass DJ crew, will bust heads togheter for the first time for years it seems. We are realy looking forward to this party. Now it´s up to you to get yourself and all your friends there. =) We´ll try not to dissapoint you.

Talked a little to Carl about the beat 3.1 tune we posted the other day and I was sure that I had heard a full edit of it. And look, I was right. After our little chat Carl sought out where he had put it and to the joy for the listeners he ound it. Just press here to start loading it. It's called Electronic Highway. Look what's happened here. We uploaded some new shit for you. Hope you like it. We would like to see some comments about them here. Otherwise how can we know if you like it or not.
Maybe a little histora about the tunes then. If you can belive the date I found for Machine City it was made back in march 2004. I have a faint memory of me and Carl trying to make the machines go crazy or something. We fucked around with the tempo and experimentet with glich. Don't know if it works but I thought I'd poste it here anyway so you could be the judge.
Another track i posted today was a remix we did for a great guy called Micro Groover. He was nice enough to let us pour acid all over one of his traxs. This is what came out of the emergency burn unit after the doctors where finished with it.
Then I felt real giving and shit so I uped some beats that have been with us for some live stuf. Let us know what you think if it's enough for making a full lenght track of an of 'em. Here they are. 1 2 3

On another note. We are to perform live at a festival called Lost Islands of somethin like that. I'll get back to you about dates and time. I'll see to it that we get a copy of the flyer for you to look at.

Well, I finaly persuaded Carl to come visit me here in the south of Sweden and We have just managed to fix the bloody computer to actually make some noise. Well see what will come of all this. I hope it wont crash on me again anytime soon.
If you like I might upload a track or two. What would you like, hardcore or acid? Or Maybe some Drum and bass. You tell me wat you want to here and I see what I can set up.

Been much now. Carl has been doing his thing at school and I've been working the shit out of myself. But we bring good news. We have said yes to a gig and we ar playing live as Asphalt and probbably we'll play some records too. We'll se what we can work out. I do think there is a homepage for all this but as I reasently had a little missunderstanding with my computer (it desided to crash on me without my permission), I have lost the address. But I will get back to you about that. Other then that Carl has been experimenting a little bit and I hope we can get the trax up soon.
And apparently we have been mentioned in an article in a paper (sorry I can't be more specific as I just got a cut out of it) Hailing us to the stars (mentioning our track as a good breakcore tune).
I havn't been able to listen to the whole collection of songs on the album but apparently we stand out from the rest of them.
I don't know if there was anything more but do comment on anything you think we should put up or just try to make happen.

We´ve been away

Some might wonder why we havn´t updated the site for a while. Well. It has, as it should be, many reasons but I can tell you now that we are back again. Carl are at the moment busy with his final school project and I have been swamped with work and to make it worse I fell ill for a couple of weeks. But we won´t let this keep us down. This weekend we are going to get togheter again for a little music making and we plan to see Thomas Chrome as he is visiting our old stompinggrounds. I´ll see if I can get some of our new experiments up for you to listen to in a day or to. Have to find some space to put it though. A sad note to this post is that we had to turn down a gig as it chrashed with our scheduals. Sorry about that, but we are producing more stuf and will try to make the next booking happend. Spread the word and the music!

What started it all...

I just loaded another of our old EP's. You can find it in the links section as usual.
Many don't know this but it was actually the fisrt track on this EP that got us going. Carl had been messing about with the programs trying to find a new sound. Finally one night I got a call (more of a ICQ message actually but who cares anyway) from him saying that he had some new scetches he wanted to run by me. That was the proto version of first track on the EP. Those who knows us, I mean really know us, knows that this was made us go. We made some more tracks but none managed to find that sound that we wanted. Then by a freak accident we managed to sit down together one day and built a tune from the nothing under 2 hours just to have something new to play at a party we where going to play at the day after.
So there you go. We finally made the tracks available to the public and I know some of you got some of our more rare edits and remixes of these tracks. I did a little check and found that Trance Fuckers have 6 different edits and Hive got 5 different edits. But anyway here it is.

Some changes

It came to my notice that I had loaded the wrong edit of the X-mas mixup. I´ve changed it and now a tighter mix is up and ready for download. Sorry about the inconvenience this might have caused you. We still would like to here from you about what you think about our tracks. And for you lot out there that managed to download the old mix with out/faulty ID3-tag. We would lite to hear your thoughts about which one was the better mix.

The new old track

As you can see we managed to hook up some more webspace and managed to get one of the old mixup tracks from yesteryears up. You can find it by following this link . It was a mix of all tunes we hade made during that year and some where just snippets that never made it to a final, full lenght tune. So we decided to press it all togheter and mix it up so that our friends could have something nice for X-mas that year (2003 for those wondering). Anyway, it was mixed and the remixed in a shorter version that didn´t drag on so much as the first one. It´s there now for you to listen to and comment about.

Time to clarify

I don´t know if you noticed but, there´s going to be a lot of names here on this site and somehow they are related to us, the owners of this space.
As allready mentioned we go by the wonderful names Cris and Carl P. But we didn´t allways do that.
No, we had to come up with realy out-there names (I am much to blame for this).

First of, we where Asphalt.
This was back in 2002. It all started with us making hardcore with a twist. We called it psycore. It was probably because the music was a mix of psytrance and hardcore and we did it our way. No compromise! We played he tracks for our friends and they liked it. This made us feel so good that we actually thougt we could make music. So I then got us a spot on a local festival (a year had gone and it was now 2003). Last out on the first of two days. We didn´t think anyone would listen, yeat stay in that dungeon we where horded up in. It turned out quite bizare as pepole not only staying to listen, the danced to the shit we made!
Later that year we had cooked up some new tunes and we got to play at a party that a friend of ours had. And what do you know? They loved it! We even got persuaded to play the set again.
Then what? we don´t remember. It all goes a little fuzzy on the edges here as we started to experiment in different styles other then the psycore we where doing with Asphalt. All we know is that we got fed up with doing just the Asphalt thing and started doing other stuf. But we tend to come back to it from time to time. As you can see it´s now 2005 and wwe are back with this release on the Streetcore record.

Asphalt!

Asphalt will be feautured on the new swedish hardcore compilation "Streetcore" with a new tune called "Fucked Up". The song is a breakcore tune with lot of disorted drums and stuttering. It feels really good that we have made a new tune for this old project and hopefully there will be more. The Streetcore compilation is put togheter by the "Terrorcore" crew and can be purchased from http://www.terrorcore.com/ for 50 skr. // Carl

Ahh, finaly! We got our own place one the net. As yo have seen, Carl has posted the last live-set from late november last year. We where invited to participate in a winter festival down in the capital. Eager to play some of our new traxs we agreed and went down.
What you can here is the internal recording of the live-set as somehow managed to forget the batteries to the mic-recorder. Shit happens. We got the floor moving and all dancing or just listening seemed to be happy. What more can you ask for?
